Socialist v. Fascist
I'm starting to get pretty sick of right-winger's bleating about "Obama's socialism", blah, blah, blah.
Here's a thought:
Look up the word "fascism" in the dictionary/encyclopedia (or just the convenient link I have provided). That's what George Bush/Dick Cheney were steering us toward.
So from now on, I am going to refer to the R's as what they are when they bitch about "socialists" in the public discourse.

Responding to a position with your resonse to a position nobody postulated is disingenuous, Counseler. But you know that - you're a leftie.
The Democrats are indeed moving the US towards Socialism. That's not rhetoric, it is fact. In political scienve there is a status and trend line from pure Capitalism to pure Communism (neither of which exist in fact)that all governments fall along. Increasing government ownership of the means of production and service equates to a move towards Socialism. You may not like having your party called on it, but it is a fact. Personally, I wish the Democrats would be honest about it and say "Yes, we think that a less capitalistic and more socialist government makes better sense." Instead they try to be sneaky and call a spade a diamond.
